BCBS 239

It aims to enhance banks' ability to identify, aggregate, and report on risks promptly and accurately. Fourteen principles cover various aspects of risk data management, including governance and infrastructure, risk data aggregation capabilities, risk reporting practices, and supervisory review. The principles emphasize the importance of having robust data governance frameworks, reliable data aggregation processes, and effective risk reporting mechanisms.

My role and responsibilities in this project were to:

  • Understanding BCBS 239 Principles.

  • Assessed the state of the manual reports.

  • Identified gaps and deficiencies in consumer reporting.

  • Developed a comprehensive remediation plan to address the identified gaps and deficiencies using technology partners.

  • Executed the remediation plan by implementing necessary changes and improvements. Built data quality rules for the new automated report: Timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.

  • Conducted testing and validation of the implemented changes to ensure they effectively address the identified gaps.

  • Established ongoing monitoring and maintenance processes to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 principles.

  • Maintained comprehensive documentation.
